   When I think about it, "terror alerts" are an act of terror in themselves,   
   attempting to force a false sense of fear on us, without any imperical data   
   to back things up.   
      
   The general public can do NOTHING in this instance, so the alerts are 100%   
   useless, unless your goal is to create panic.  For that goal, such alerts   
   are very useful.  But I know of no purpose our government might have for   
   spreading panic among voters.  ;-)
