XPost: alt.fan.rush-limbaugh, mn.politics, talk.politics.guns       XPost: sac.politics, alt.war.civil.usa       From: democrat-pussy@minnesota.guv              DNA evidence collected from a cigarette butt helped lead investigators to the       gunman in a fatal shooting outside a neighborhood bar in St. Paul, according       to new criminal charges.              Prosecutors in Ramsey County charged Devante L. Jennings, 28, of St. Paul on       Monday with two counts of second-degree murder in connection with the fatal       shooting that occurred nearly three years ago, on May 4, 2019, outside the       since-closed Johnny Baby's        bar at University Avenue and Chatsworth Street.              According to the criminal complaint, Jennings was seated in the front       passenger seat of a vehicle when he reached out and fatally shot 33-year-old       Michael Gray around 2 a.m. that morning.              The complaint states investigators found Jennings' DNA on a cigarette butt       inside the vehicle tied to the shooting.              Jennings denied being at Johnny Baby's the night of the murder and told       investigators he'd smoked the cigarette months prior while buying drugs.              Jennings claimed he'd been at his brother's house that night, but surveillance       footage showed Jennings and two other men together at Willard's Bar and, later       on, at Johnny Baby's.              Last month, investigators met with Jennings, who is currently in prison, and       told him they knew he'd lied when he told police he'd been at his brother's       house the night of the murder.              Jennings admitted he'd been at Willard's Bar, but said he didn't recall being       at Johnny Baby's because he was using Percocet, charges state.              When shown surveillance footage stills, "Jennings looked at the photos and       sighed," charges state, although he denied any involvement in the murder.              One of the men with Jennings the night Gray was murdered was murdered himself       months later near the St. Paul Saloon by Gray's friends, charges state. No       charges have been filed in connection with that case, the Star Tribune reports.              https://bringmethenews.com/minnesota-news/suspected-gunman-charg       d-nearly-3-years-after-murder-at-st-paul-bar              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
