I spent a lot of time with Mick's song writer, Matt
Gilbert yesterday. He even bought me lunch!

He's on Methadone, and has been, except for the back
   slides, for years & years.

Drug addiction is common place. And supposedly his
   son started at 15.

   15.

Cigarettes were the best I could afford at 15.

But even if he wasn't a contributor to his own demise:

He had a wonderful life, and I think it more appropriate to
celebrate that life than mourn his death.

Charlie Kirk was murdered by a stranger, taken at 31.

Compared to Rob Reiner, Kirk had another 47 years to go.

Fact is that most druggies like drugs. They like taking drugs.
And addiction is both physical and psychological. I wonder if
they caught him at the party taking drugs and told him that
they were cutting him off again, or ordering him into rehab
   "Or else."

Maybe he decided his parents were fascists. That would make
   it okay.
