I liked that show. We've discussed it here previously.
I thought of it as a sort of "Twilight Zone", in its
   own sense.

The TV show "Star Trek the Next Generation" had at
least one episode that showed a multiverse, which
was produced back in the 80s, and therefore before
   Sliders.

But my question for you is this -- while you wish
you were in a different universe, which you imagine
would cause you to be in a better version of your
life than the one you have in this universe -- has
it ever occurred to you that you might wind up in
a worse life than the one you have now? And maybe
you should just be thankful that you're living the
life you have -- when even in THIS universe where
you could have lived a far worse life (in some
   crappy hellhole on this planet)?
