Why is       > this so hard?              Because you're over thinking.              Another approach is to research the weak points of a car.       If, for example, a car is considered bad because it can't       go 100k without the transmission frying out, look for one       that had the transmission replaced. The problem has already       occurred and been addressed.              One trap to avoid is the luxury cars. Because they are so       expensive people fix them. A $5000 repair bill is nothing on       a $100,000 car. You'd be crazy to junk it! Of course you fix       it. So a top of the line Tesla that needs a new battery? It       almost certainly gets it. A Nissan Leaf that needs a new       battery? In all but certainty it's written off as "Totaled."              Finally, stop looking for a specific car and start looking       for a deal.              "Fall in love with the deal, not the car."                     Wait. One last bit of advice: If you do find an honest to       God awesome deal? FLIP IT!              Someone once told me that they got this car for $2k. I didn't       believe them because they were running $7 & up. Plus they       weren't any car I could trust. "Flip it!" I told them. I mean,       if you can make a tidy profit on some money pit, make it       someone else's problem!              As a rule, cars are NOT an investment. You're going to lose       every dime you sink into one. So if a deal comes along that       let's you make some money? Take it!                                          --       https://jtem.tumblr.com/              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
