   As someone raised in a Catholic household, I can't stress   
   enough how offensive it initially struck me.   
      
   AND I'M NOT RELIGIOUS!   
      
   It's the antithesis of Christianity, as I learned it!   
      
   When I first learned this, and I don't mean the first time   
   it was said out loud while within range of my hearing but,   
   when I first listened & understood what they were saying,   
   what I imagined was...   
      
   Picture this:   
      
   Fundies are all screaming "Stone Him" at some dumn homo,   
   because back then, when I learned this shit, they were   
   fresh with the anti gay = "Protecting families" or even   
   just "Pro family." It wasn't like right now at all, it   
   was very much more hostile. So...   
      
   Fundies have these gay dude surrounded, they're all righteous   
   in their "Defense of the family" so of course they're   
   screaming "Stone him" when, POOF, Jesus appears.   
      
   "Let he who is without..."   
      
   And with that Jesus is obliterated in a hail of stones.   
      
   Because THAT is how it would work with fundies!   
      
   Jesus. The prostitute. "Let he who is without sin..." Jesus   
   would imperil his life speaking those words in front of   
   fundies, because they literally do claim to be without sin!   
      
   Not just without sin but incapable of ever sinning again!   
      
   "Once saved always saved."   
      
   And that just BREAKS EVERYTHING! It even breaks WHY there   
   was a Jesus in the first place, the need for the sacrifice.   
      
   And it's just plain hubris.
