For you and your co conspirators to watch, laugh at &       have a good time.              #2. To have other people watch, to experience, like maybe       a work of art.              #3. To make a boatload of money.              All of those can be achieved by placing your film online but,       more so 2 & 3.              > Or do they generally       > go into a personal 'black box'? How would you even know       > know?              Some people already have them on Youtube.              One "Influencer" had his on Youtube. We offered like maybe       a 35% discount. Would have put him in for free, plus got him       a hotel room or paid him cash if he showed up but, I thought       there was a zero percent chance of him attending and his       film kind of sucked.              I got bored, stopped watching it.... one of the dangers of       putting it on Youtube I guess. "They might watch it!"              Most people post them "Privately," on Youtube or Vimeo.              Best advice: Upload to FilmFreeway itself and set it so       festivals can automatically download it without asking. It's       REAL EASY to miss a request and if you do, they're going to       just disqualify you & keep your fee.              If you're gonna go Vimeo, do the same: Allow downloads without       them requesting.              > Maybe people make these films for other reasons and       > a submission is just a 'last resort' so to speak.              It's fun to play "Hollywood" for a night. It just is.                            --       https://jtem.tumblr.com/              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
