From: user6340@newsgrouper.org.invalid              Those who believe the Bible to be some random book       filled with mythical stories, are people who don't       even know what the Bible actually says.              The Bible prophesied (hundreds of years in advance)       the destruction of Israel, and that the land would       sit empty and desolate until God would regather His       people and return them to their own land.              Here are a couple of examples:              Ezekiel 36:24-28: "I will take you from the nations       and gather you from all the countries and bring you       into your own land."              Isaiah 11:11-12: "In that day the Lord will reach out       his hand a second time to reclaim the surviving remnant       of his people from Assyria, from Lower Egypt, from Upper       Egypt, from Cush, from Elam, from Babylonia, from Hamath       and from the islands of the Mediterranean."              And before you might think this is about the Babylonian       exile, notice that these two verses mention a regathering       of God's people from multiple nations. These verses are       about today's Israel, in which the Jews were restored to       their land in 1948 -- just as God promised would happen.              How could the Bible have prophesied all of that so many       years in advance, if it's just a random collection of       (supposed) myths?              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
