   The Book of Isaiah was written 700 years before   
   the birth of Jesus, and the prophecies that were   
   written by the prophet are amazingly accurate   
   about the coming Messiah.   
      
   Here are a few examples:   
      
   Isaiah 7:14 -- "Therefore the Lord Himself will give you   
   a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son,   
   and shall call His name Immanuel" [Immanuel means "God with us"].   
      
   Isaiah 9:6 -- "For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son   
   is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder.   
   And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty   
   God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."   
      
   Isaiah 53:5 -- "But He was wounded for our transgressions,   
   He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our   
   peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed."   
      
   Isaiah 53:6 -- We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each   
   of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on   
   Him the iniquity of us all."   
      
   Isaiah 53:11 -- "After He has suffered, He will see the   
   light of life and be satisfied; by His knowledge my   
   righteous servant will justify many, and He will bear   
   their iniquities."   
      
   It was all foretold in advance. We have been given the   
   free gift of salvation by Jesus. All we have to do is   
   accept it. It's all summed up in John 3:16: "For God   
   so loved the world that he gave His one and only Son,   
   that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but   
   have eternal life."
