|    Gary Lesley, Part II    |

From: jtem01@gmail.com              So at one point Gary the Lesley submitted a film and then       later withdrew it. And I wasn't surprised.              And I said I wasn't surprised.              And I wrestled with saying this because in the past I       tried to post "Predictions" in order to jinx them.               ...I "Foresee" bad outcomes, I post about them here,       "Predicting" them in the hopes of laying on the jinx, so       these bad outcomes do not come to fruition.              That's what I do.              So I don't like posting "Predictions" when they're not       of much significance.              Whether Gary Lesley withdraws a film or not isn't going       to mean the difference of war or peace. It's not going       to save or destroy lives. The planet's orbit isn't going       to shift, the earth is not going to break off, careening       into the sun.              I guess I'm saying I don't want to "Use Up" my jinxing       super powers on something that literally nobody outside       my little world could ever notice. But...              I feel that this film we received a little while ago,       the one that I'm in: It's going the way of the Psycho       Ray Sasquatch.              I think we'll see it withdrawn before the festival start.              AND for the same reasons as Gary Lesley withdrew. NOT       whatever rationalization the Gnome on stilts managed       to dream up, his real reason.              So why am I "Predicting" it if I don't like to post       predictions unless I would like to jinx them? Cus.              That's why.              I thought about this and I concluded that I wanted to go       on record BEFORE it happened BECAUSE if I only said       something afterwards it might look like a Postecy.              "Oh, sure, you /Predicted/ it AFTER it happened!"              And it's not really important to a Steven character or       some stranger in Michigan if a particular film featuring       JTEM is not screened at the Ostrich. It's already       screened in Providence, at the very least. And I've been       part of many films, mostly behind the scenes but a       number of times in front of the camera, that have screened       at festivals, including with this same filmmaker!              So this isn't earth shattering.                                                 --       https://jtem.tumblr.com/              --- SoupGate-DOS v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
