   Exo 33:20

20 But you may not look directly at my face, for no one may see me and live.”

Paul, when he and his fellows saw Jesus on the road to Damascus did not see him
directly other than as a brilliant, Jesus who is God not tempered by a human
body was as he was when he spoke to Moses, He revealed himself to Moses in a
fashion that was similar to when he was here on earth as a human. Likewise when
he visited Abraham in the desert. But Moses desired to see him in ALL his
Glory, and Jehovah allowed that, but told him not to look upon His Face. And so
as he passed by Moses, he put Moses in a cleft of a Rock so that Moses could
see his back side. You can read all about it if you cared to know.
