XPost: alt.bible, alt.religion.christian.biblestudy, alt.religion.christianity       XPost: alt.religion.christian.roman-catholic              Hmm, the NT is the source of Christ's birth. Does that mean the below       makes theNT an ungodly source for discussing the "wise men" in ?association       with the glory of His birth?              The jw vatican's nwt "translation" has the "wise men" and their role in the       nativity with only a positive presentation of them. That includes their       role in protecting the newborn from death and making an effort to worship       Him. as the reason for the long trip.              Note the false broken forced logic; nT presents "wise men" in a positive       light; therefore christmas not to bee observed.              >1) "Wise men" were pagan Persian astrologers and sorcerers. Things       >condemned by God.       >       >2) Bible doesn't say how many pagan Persian astrologers and sorcerers       >there were.       >       >3) 'Star' first led them to the evil murderous Herod.       >       >4) Herod plans a murder plot using the astrologers as dupes. Tells       >them to find Jesus, and then return, so he can pay him homage also.       >              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
