It is better to be in the truth then to swallow a lie.
   >Many Bibles translate the OT word "sheol" as hell.(or just leave it as
   >"sheol") And it talks about people dying and going to sheol. So what is
   >sheol?
Answer; the grave as the early OTperiod hebrews defined it.. Friend james
has been corrected before on this jw vatican lack of hebrew change in
   thought on this topic.  He has been givin a web jewish reference source;
ignored and unread of course. He is forbidden to consult info
contradicting the jw vatican's line. In the first part of the OT books of
Moses it meant a dark isolated place were everyone went after death. By
the end of the OT period it meant a two part place, one for punishment of
the unrighteous and "Abrahams bosom for the righteous. The latter a place
of peace awaiting reserection when the Messiah came. This change is known
from jewish commentary on the topic as it happened . The latter is exactly
the one used to describe in Christ's parable the place of the rich man;and
the begger who was in Abraham's bosom. Friend james will tell us, as he has
before, that was just a parable and doesn't mean anything. It didn't
describe a real situation. Smile, a jw vatican word dance, no? Few if any
of His parables were of specific events; all did use info common to jews of
the 1st century to make His point in the parables. The one above used info
all jews knew. If it didn't it would be nonsens to listeners. The jewish
resource above confirms the example info He used was indeed 1st century
   thinking on the
   aftelife.
