Friend james knows what "new light" is, we leave to him to explain.
In the NT the greek used for cross was is in enlishan upright "pole" unpon
which people were exicuted. The roman item for exicution of the same
meaning was the enlish word "cross". The jw vatican uses the greek word
translation it as "tortue stake" in the nwt.

When trnslating; bible scholars pick a word haveing the same or similar
meaning in another language. . For 1st century jews writing the NT in
greek; chose the execution ""pole"" as the most similar word for the roman
latin for"cross" item for the same purpose.

So what about "hell"? The jw vatican says the OT word sheol neans
"grave, that's wrong and a subject for another time. The jw vatican says
there is no soul and;/or afterlife to which it goes. and no "hell".

For "cross" they use "pole" as above. Why not use the greek word with the
same aning to be consistant? "?

Here is the new light for the jw vatican, when jews translated the OT into
greek some 300 years BC; what word is translated for "sheol"?"they use
"hades, the english word from the greek meaning of word "hell". So jews
2300 years ago said "sheol" was the underworld place for the dead in the
   afterlife.

If he jw vatican uses the literl greek "pole"; they should also use the
literal greek "hades" for the afterlife, no?

No doubt this "new light" will soon be revealed in "halls" everwhere.
