   Indeed, you just restated a basic idea of evolutionary biology.  Current   
   life forms are the result of the natural laws of the cosmos playing out.

   The dating of genesus is of a standard model of the ancient cultures of the   
   middle east.  It states in broad terms a rough sequence of the history of   
   the cosmos and of  life forms.  It served the pre-science cultures as an   
   explanation; including the hebrews.  Btw, the hebrew account is not the   
   only written account thus far discovered.
