Friend james rpeats a very flawed in logic jw vatican exuse as to claims of
   pagan origins:

   >Thus, the KEY to
whether a situation with a suspected pagan source is
   >ok to do, is if that situation is done with FALSE RELIGIOUS PRACTICES.
   >
   >So since there is no false religious practices being done at a JW
   >weddings, they can do pretty much what they want.

Sorry bub, what is practiced are pagan "false religion practices".
   >

   >But you might say, wait a minute. JW's don't celebrate Easter because
   >of its link to paganism. (ex; fertility symbols of colored eggs &
   >rabbits) Yet people today don't perform those pagan religious
   >practices when celebrating Easter. So it should be allowed.
   >
   >That's what they think. But the act of coloring eggs was in itself a
   >part of the pagan worship. Also, the bringing in of rabbits with
   >Easter, etc, was all part of that worship.

What a total hoot; apply the exact same jw vatican excuse above and its
jusst fine,ie. it is not done with any rligious intention just like
   coloring eggs.

   >That's when we go to the Bible for clarification. None of Jesus
   >apostles and Paul, celebrated Jesus'resurrection. ZERO. The Bible
   >clearly says to celebrate his DEATH, but not his resurrection. (

The logical fallacy of argument from silence,ie. it aint't mentioned so it
wasn't an commemorated event. But it is in the NT; the 1st century
christians continued to observe passover. The non-germanic origin
languages have the name as their version of "passover",ie. in greek pasha
the word used in the NT greek. Very early in church history passober was
not observed; but tthe religious events concerning Christ were commemorated
at the time of jewish passover each year.

   >And with Easter, even the name "Easter" is of the pagan sex

Sorry bub, just aint' true, read above. The word "easter" is of germanic
origin and means spring even in the modern german version. "Easter" is the
   vrrsion in modern english only.
