        Getting back to the topic, the Apannaka Sutta pictures the   
   Buddha teaching "There is actually the next world," saying   
   "There is actually the next world" is right speech, calling the   
   proposition "There is actually the next world" the true   
   dhamma, distinguishing between good and bad destinations, so on   
   and so forth.  Therefore your idea it limits him to the   
   "safe-bet" arguments he also provides is false.  Seems like you   
   didn't read the thing.
