   I had picked up this translation a number of years ago, and I agree that   
   the introduction was a nice way to orient myself to the work.  I   
   especially liked the reference to its poetic, emotional appeal, as well   
   as its vision that awakening is available to all and not just the   
   cloistered monks.  That alone makes it a valuable contribution to   
   religious literature.
