   The enlightment with remains is not permanent. Nothing about which the   
   enlightment should be. A Pratyekabuddha enlightened outside the sangha has   
   attained his Nirvana but not the ultimate Parinirvana. It's the state of   
   Nirodha (the partial, temporary Nirvana with remains). As if he frightened   
   off the villains from the saloon but didn't burn the saloon itself. He can   
   be awakened from it by a Bodhisattva in order to go to the regular path of   
   Mahayana.
