   I think saying that “I am one with the universe” is stupid. I am   
   a subset of the universe, though that does not necessarily   
   imply that my consciousness is a subset of the consciousness   
   of the universe, which itself is a subset of the universe. And   
   I believe that the universe was conscious long before the   
   human species was around.   
      
   Also you posted to alt.religion.pantheism, which is not in   
   my newsgroups list, instead of talk.religion.pantheism, which is.
