        Half-truth.  The "safe bet" arguments in the sutta contend   
   the dhamma is valuable in regard to both this world and the   
   next one.  (That's what makes them safe:  they're covering both   
   bets.)  But the sutta _also_ pictures the Buddha firmly   
   stating "there actually is the next world," contending that the   
   proposition "there actually is the next world" is the true   
   dhamma, teaching that the assertion "there actually is the next   
   world" is right speech, etc.
