   it is NOT particularly historical -- either in its treatment of Pilate   
   or of the actual events -- it revels in brutality -- clearly some   
   Christians are turned on by suffering -- we have Savanarola types in   
   every generation and Gibson appears to be one   
      
   it is designed to make people mad about something they should be glad   
   about i.e. Christ's taking on the sins of the world   
      
   it is hate fodder for thoughtless people
