                         Parapsychology and spiritism   
      
   The devil has always tried to ape after and make copies of what God   
   does. Like as God gives spiritual gifts to the Assembly, so can also the   
   devil give "spiritual gifts" of different kinds. As telepathy (thought   
   transference), clairvoyance (ability to read hidden text), telekinesis   
   (ability to move things without touching them), occult prediction,   
   automatic writing, acupuncture, strange tricks with playing card,   
   seeking water with a divining rod.   
      
   Those who have such an occult "gift" do not comprehend it, as   
   anything evil. They see it as something remarkably and interesting   
   and others become impressed and curious. They do not understand   
   that evil spirits are playing with them for the purpose to get power   
   over them.   
      
   Just this, that the "mediums" in a notably way can have the   
   knowledge of such things, which they do not really ought to know,   
   it works entirely convincing on many people so that they believe   
   in these "mediums". However, this only shows that there exists a   
   spiritual world, and for us who believe in the Bible is this nothing   
   new. God's word tells that there exist evil spirits, but we shall have   
   no fellowship with the demons. 1 Cor. 10:20.   
      
   Spiritism and spiritualism are a dreadful fraud. The spirits which   
   the "mediums" have contact with are evil spirits, such spirits which   
   Jesus drove out. Matt. 8:16. Luke 4:33-41. And the messages that   
   the "mediums" give to other people do not come from any deceased   
   relatives to them. It is deceitful playing, a theatre where evil spirits   
   appear as actors and play deceased relatives to people. That the   
   messages seem to agree with the reality make the sake no better.   
   The devil gladly mixes some part of truth in the messages so that   
   they seem reliable. A false doctrine always consists of a mixture   
   of truth and lie.   
      
   The devil himself is very religious and he has nothing against that   
   people are religious. But he himself wants to be the object for their   
   worship. He sees gladly that the "divine service" is solemn and full   
   of feeling and that they use light candles. That occurs between the   
   spiritualists and they call the devil "God".   
      
   Participating in occult experiments and take an interest in occult   
   things is very dangerous and it is strictly forbidden, according to   
   the Bible. We shall not concern us with occult prediction or   
   interpretation of signs. We shall not consult spirits which speak   
   through "mediums" and fortune-tellers. Leviticus 19:26, 31, 20:6.   
   Deuteronomy 18:10-12.   
      
   Spiritists and spiritualists are slaves under the spirits which they   
   have contacts with. "They" demand. Since they believe in these   
   spirits they not even try to be free from them, but if they want to   
   be free, then they become perceiving that they are bound. None   
   another than Jesus can release them.   
      
   Spiritualists and those who participate in parapsychology mean   
   that people live more than one time on the earth. When a man   
   has died, he can be born again as a child of other parents, perhaps   
   in another country than he has lived his earlier life.   
      
   Through hypnosis it is possible to get people to "remember" their   
   earlier life. They can tell the names of their earlier parents and   
   sisters and brothers. They can tell where they have lived, and   
   describe their house, etc. Examinations can prove that people with   
   these names have really lived on that place. Everything seems true.   
   But yet it is lie!   
      
   At hypnosis it is not so that the test subjects remember their earlier   
   life. No, evil spirits inspire them to speak what they want. Some   
   "mediums" do not believe that what they are participating with has   
   anything to do with spirits. They think it is a remarkable talent of   
   their own. Then it still seems more convincing that what they   
   "remember" is their own memory from an earlier life. The evil   
   spirits are old. They have knowledge so that they can tell about   
   people who have lived on a place, hundreds of years ago or still   
   longer back, and with examinations in old parish register and   
   history books it can seem correct.   
      
   The evil spirits are intelligent beings though they have no physical   
   bodies. They can use people and speak through them. Please, read   
   Mark 1:23-34. Luke 8:27-33. In Acts 19:15 we can read about an   
   evil spirit who said, "Jesus I know and Paul I know, but who are   
   ye?" Accordingly, the evil spirits have knowledge. In Matt. 12:   
   43-45 we see that the evil spirits have their own will. They want to   
   have physical bodies to live in.   
      
   The doctrine of the reincarnation is from the evil spirit world, and   
   many people do not seek the truth. They refuse to love the truth and   
   they wish a doctrine which they find pleasantly, which does not   
   demands conversion to the Lord.   
      
   The devil stands gladly to their service. The old and practised   
   founder of religions as he is, he finds easily a doctrine which is   
   suitable to their own wish and opinion. In the evil spirit world   
   the devil has many tools and "spiritual leaders" who are willing   
   to lead people longer and longer away from God's word, and away   
   from the truth.   
   They also can show signs and wonders to convince people and   
   heal sicks, but not in the such way so that Jesus gets any glory,   
   and the sicks do not become free. They can become bound of a   
   worse thing than illness, demon-possessed.
