|    GOD=G_uv letter to VIRGINIA HARRIS (1/2)    |

XPost: alt.religion.christian.episcopal, alt.religion.christian.lutheran,       alt.religion.clergy       XPost: alt.religion.new       From: research137@hotmail.com              SCIENTIFIC PROOF OF GOD CONFIRMS CHRISTIAN SCIENCE              NOTE: The following letter has been mailed to all 5 Board        Members of the Christian Science Church of Boston                     April 21, 2004              Mrs. Virginia Harris, Chairperson        and the Board of Directors       The First Church of Christ, Scientist       Christian Science Plaza       175 Huntington Avenue       Boston, MA 02115                            RE: Please notice that a Scientific Proof of God has been published in        the peer reviewed literature which confirms Christian Science.                                   DEAR MRS. VIRGINIA HARRIS AND THE BOARD MEMBERS:                     This letter contains information of vital       importance to the future of the Christian       Science Church. PLEASE do not mistake       this letter for a routine communication.                     I am a 62 year old physicist and a resident of xxxxxxx xxxxxxxx xxxxx.       I am not a member of the Christian Science Church, in fact I was raised as a       Congregationalist. For 22 years I have been researching and publishing in       Psychology, searching for the long sought Structural Model. In 1994 I       discovered this Model and it was published by Pergamon Press (Hammond 1994).       Amazingly, 3 years later I discovered that it lead to a scientific       explanation       of God confirmed to 2-decimal point accuracy by Psychometry and General       Relativity. This was published in the peer reviewed literature by the       Noetic       Journal (Hammond 2003).              This discovery is the subject of my two websites (listed above) and has been       the target of much discussion on the Internet and in private correspondence       with some of the world's leading physicists and psychologists. Naturally,       most scientists being ignorant that God could be caused by the "mind", are       incredulous at this discovery.                     Three weeks ago, after years of trial and tribulation, I stumbled across       Mary Baker Eddy and suddenly realized that she discovered the same thing 125       years ago. Not only that, she confirmed it by founding one of the most       successful and erudite religious movements of modern history, solely on the       doctrine that "God is mind".              I of course suddenly realized that the Christian Science Church is nothing       less than a massive social and empirical confirmation of my discovery. In       fact, most people would be inclined to say that my discovery is a scientific       proof of Christian Science.                     THE ABOVE STATED FACTS ARE THE REASON       THAT I HAVE WRITTEN YOU THIS LETTER.                     Beyond these simple facts, I find that there are compelling reasons why the       Christian Science Church should arrange to meet with me to discuss the       potential significance of this discovery for the Church. You could arrange       a preliminary meeting with me and the local Board of the xxxxxx Church of       Christ Scientists if you wish. I would be glad to talk to them, if you       request them to meet with me for the purposes of a preliminary review of       this       issue. I have already met one of their Board Members and informed her about       my website.                            Meanwhile, as is well known, the miraculous strides of Medicine in the past       130 years have wiped out most of the epidemic diseases that were plaguing       our nation during the lifetime of Mary Baker Eddy. Diphtheria, Smallpox,       Typhus, Tuberculosis, Yellow Fever, Malaria, Tetanus, Syphilis, Consumption,       etc. have been eradicated by antibiotics and vaccines. Modern Medicine,       Public Health Care, Medicaid and Social Security etc. have all contributed       to a slackening demand for "spiritual healing". Indeed, the declining       membership of the Church, falling revenues and the present financial       difficulties are directly traceable to this fundamental cause. Clearly it       is debatable whether "spiritual healing" is a mission sufficiently robust       to continue the growth of the Christian Science movement through the present       century.              However, as Mary Baker Eddy herself said, spiritual healing is only the tip       of the iceberg of Christian Science. The greater mission of Christian       Science       is the salvation of mankind, the defeat of evil, and the advancement of       Human       Progress. I am here to suggest that the discovery of a scientific proof of       God and the scientific confirmation of the doctrine of Christian Science is       a       "second miracle" for the Church, and a miracle which will elevate Christian       Science to this higher mission. In my view, a "scientifically proved"       Christian Science will eventually be the vehicle which must lead the world       towards a scientifically based ecumenical unification and overhaul of the       world's religions. This I see as the new mission and challenge for       Christian       Science. It is a mission and a program which I think Mary Baker Eddy has       already endorsed.                     The first thing that I would like to discuss with you then, is the fact that       the Christian Science Church is de facto, the only institutional body which       actually has the means and the ability to "competently evaluate" Hammond's       discovery and make a finding as to the strength, credibility and meaning of       it. The reason for this is of course that having already discovered that       "God is mind" 130 years ago, they are the only body of people who have any       competent formal scientific idea of what God actually is. Most secular       scientists for instance, I have discovered, don't have so much as a clue as       to what God is.              On the other hand, the Christian Science membership nation wide, indeed       worldwide, has many members who are also secular scientists- physicists,       psychologists, biologists, neuroscientists, psychometrists, anatomists,       embryologists etc. Therefore, it would be a simple matter for the Church       to organize a "blue ribbon committee" to quietly and soberly investigate       and evaluate Hammond's claim that a rigorous hard science proof of God has       been discovered and that it confirms in complete detail the entire theology       of the Christian Science Church.              It wouldn't cost anything, it could be done entirely by email, internet and       telephone. No one would have to travel anywhere. It could be done in 6       months. No experimental work has to be done, its all been done by academics       in the last century and published. It is entirely a matter of "religious       and scientific expertise" at this point. However, it can only be done by       scientists who are members of the Christian Science Church, not merely by       a panel of secular scientists alone, because only Christian Scientists it       turns out, have any idea of what God actually is, scientifically.                     SO THAT IS MY PROPOSAL TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS              I am asking that the Christian Science Church undertake a low key       "independent evaluation" of the discovery of a scientific proof of God       that I have made and published.              I am asking the Board of Directors, specifically Mrs. Virginia Harris,       Chair, to invite me to their offices in Boston for a discussion of this              [continued in next message]              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
