Are you Nightbulb? If not, show me some
   message Id's where you initiated
   thoughtful discussion.

If so, I would agree you have posted a
lot that could serve as a basis for
   engagement in meaningful discussion.

   > Now I'm not so sure I should engage in any thread about
   > religion at all. Maybe the weather or the price of wheat or pop culture
   > are safe limits and I should look elsewhere for reparte.

   Repartee is conversation or speech
   characterized by quick, witty, and
clever responses or remarks. It often
   involves sharp, humorous exchanges where
   participants engage in verbal
   back-and-forth with agility and
   intelligence.

Based on what the Bible says about
Jesus, I'm not under the impression that
was His goal or style in communicating
with people. He offended everyone but
those He chose, precisely because He
spoke the truth men needed to hear in
order to be saved, but men loved
darkness rather than light (John 1).

“All things were made through Him, and
without Him nothing was made that was
made. In Him was life, and the life was
the light of men. And the light shined
in the darkness, and the darkness did
not comprehend it.” (John 1:3–5, NKJV)

“And as Moses lifted up the serpent in
the wilderness, even so must the Son of
Man be lifted up, that whoever believes
in Him should not perish but have
eternal life. For God so loved the world
that He gave His only begotten Son, that
whoever believes in Him should not
perish but have everlasting life. For
God did not send His Son into the world
to condemn the world, but that the world
through Him might be saved. “He who
believes in Him is not condemned; but he
who does not believe is condemned
already, because he has not believed in
the name of the only begotten Son of
God. And this is the condemnation, that
the light has come into the world, and
men loved darkness rather than light,
because their deeds were evil. For
everyone practicing evil hates the light
and does not come to the light, lest his
deeds should be exposed. But he who does
the truth comes to the light, that his
deeds may be clearly seen, that they
have been done in God.”” (John 3:14–21,
   NKJV)

Here's an article of mine which explains
the methods I use in here, and what I
find Scripture to say about it:

   > I see much heated debate and insult from all corners which is kind
   > of a downer.

What do you think about Jesus' statement
   here?

““Do not think that I came to bring
peace on earth. I did not come to bring
peace but a sword. For I have come to
‘set a man against his father, a
daughter against her mother, and a
   daughter-in-law against her
   mother-in-law’; and ‘a man’s enemies
will be those of his own household.’ He
who loves father or mother more than Me
is not worthy of Me. And he who loves
son or daughter more than Me is not
worthy of Me. And he who does not take
his cross and follow after Me is not
worthy of Me. He who finds his life will
lose it, and he who loses his life for
My sake will find it.” (Matthew
   10:34–39, NKJV)

   > It seems to center firstly around Michael McLean, and
   > secondarily around Robert, and thirdly around ChristRose. I also saw a
   > bit of toxicity from a user 'El Kabong' but not quite as much of it as
   > with the first three.

I post multiple articles about what the
Bible teaches in here, nearly every day.
These are edifying, and are not aimed at
arguing with people in here. The gospel
by which people may be saved is in every
single one of them, and every post I
make. Why have you not engaged with me
   about those articles?

My goal in here is to proclaim the
gospel, that people might be saved from
the penalty, power, and presence of
their sin, through faith in Christ and
His death and resurrection for our sins.

There isn't a place Paul preached the
   gospel, where someone didn't start
trouble with him, try to poison people's
minds against what he said, and try to
revile and ruin his reputation and get
him in trouble. See this article of mine
for many Bible examples of how demonic
wisdom manifests itself against the gospel:

   https://christrose.news/demonic-wisdom

When people opposed, tried to undermine,
and tried to poison people's minds
against the proclamation of the gospel
   (Acts 13:8l, 45; Acts 14:2; Matthew
12:24; John 8:48), Jesus and Paul both
   defended their claims vigorously against
   those people (Acts 13:9–12; Acts 17:2–3;
   Matthew 23:13–36; John 8:49–58).

Paul also defended himself against those
who tried to undermine him (e.g., 2
   Corinthians 10:10–11; 2 Corinthians
   11:5–6; 1 Corinthians 9:1–3), because in
   undermining him, they were also
   undermining the saving gospel he
   proclaimed to others (e.g., 2
   Corinthians 4:2–5; 1 Corinthians
   1:17–18; 1 Thessalonians 2:13–16). First
   and Second Corinthians, and First
   Thessalonians show many places where
   Paul defends his reputation against
those who tried to undermine him (and
   therefore the gospel he proclaimed)
   (e.g., 2 Corinthians 6:3–10; 2
   Corinthians 12:11–12; 1 Thessalonians
   2:1–12).

   > I was just wondering why McLean seems so divisive a character, around

   > ChristRose--agitating so much needless debate and ado about nothing,
