   Congratulations to the State of Indiana for cutting $60k in unnecessary   
   expenses by firing their "chaplain" and eliminating his post.   
      
   The Chaplain was hired to counsel government employees during times of   
   stress.  But, when they came to him with stress issues, he would preach   
   religious mumbo-jumbo at them - which only served fo *further* aggravate   
   the employees.   
      
   Finally, an atheist sued the state to eliminate the chaplain's position   
   and the courts agreed.   
      
   While many legitimate counseling positions exist for chaplains -   
   Republican and NeoChristian televangelicals have been abusing those   
   positions - using them to funnel money to their own corporations, or to   
   launch hate-based attacks on those who will not be converted.   
      
   Notably - this kind of problem has only been happening with so-called   
   *Christian* chaplains.  The Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist and other chaplains   
   throughout the country have all been behaving admirably.
