XPost: misc.transport.rail.americas, talk.politics.guns, alt.fan.rush-limbaugh       XPost: alt.politics.republicans, sac.politics       From: seriously-retarded@ca.gov              At least one person was hospitalized after a car collided with a train,       then crashed into a King Taco in East Los Angeles on Friday morning.              “Earlier this morning at 9:50 a.m. in East Los Angeles, a car made a       left turn on Ford Boulevard in front of a Metro E Line train traveling       east on 3rd Street,” read a statement from Metro, adding that no one on       the train was injured. “The driver of the vehicle was transported to a       local hospital, and Metro extends its best wishes for a speedy recovery.”              The L.A. County Fire Department told KTLA that crews responded to the       call just before 10 a.m. on the corner of Ford Boulevard and East 3rd       Street.              Sky5 flew to the scene and was overhead when paramedics loaded one       patient, presumably the driver, into an ambulance. Their condition was       not immediately known.              Details are limited, but KTLA’s Mike Case said it looked like a Metro       train “centerpunched” a black SUV and pushed it through yellow pole       barriers, into the restaurant and knocked down the King Taco sign.              “We couldn’t believe what we were seeing here,” reported Case.              Footage of the aftermath showed the damaged black SUV, the fallen King       Taco sign and a stalled Metro train, with passengers and onlookers       peeking out at the wreckage.              After telling travelers to expect delays, Metro said E Line trains       started single-tracking through the area while the accident       investigation continues, adding that up-to-date service information can       be found at alerts.metro.net.              “Metro reminds all drivers to be rail safe, pay attention to crossing       gates and warning signs and always look both ways before crossing the       tracks,” the statement noted.              https://ktla.com/news/local-news/car-collides-with-train-crashes       into-king-taco-in-east-los-angeles/              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
