|    Why the unorganized militia cannot be ca    |

XPost: alt.fan.rush-limbaugh, alt.atheism, alt.fun       XPost: alt.politics.democrats.d, talk.politics.guns       From: karvatt@gmail.com              scooter, the drunken Virginia camper, insists there is a mechanism to call the       unorganized militia into service. Here's some info on how the *organized*       militia, i.e. the national guard, is called into service:              Question to Google: how do members of the national guard know when they're       being       called into service?              AI Overview:              National Guard members are notified of service calls through their unit's       communication channels, which include unit websites, email, and automated       systems. The specific notification method and timeframe can vary: during       large-scale federal activations or natural disaster warnings, members may       receive a Warning Order days or weeks in advance, while in sudden state-level       emergencies, they might be told to report for duty with little to no notice.       Communication Methods               * Command Leadership: The primary method of notification is through the       unit's        leadership.               * Electronic Channels: Information is relayed via unit websites, email,        automated calling systems, and toll-free numbers.               * Personal Contact: Some members may receive direct calls.                     There is *no such mechanism* for the unorganized militia, starting with the       incontestable fact that there is no command leadership, and continuing with the       facts that there are no unit websites — because there are no fucking units       — and       governors' offices don't have e-mail addresses and phone numbers for people       defined to be in the unorganized militia.              scooter a few times has tried to be cutesy and suggested that my "complaint" is       that the unorganized militia isn't organized. But what we today call the       unorganized militia was just "the militia" in earlier times, and it *was*       organized to a certain extent. Men knew that they were in it, they knew they       were supposed to have guns, they knew who their commanders were, they knew       where       to go and to whom they should report if the town crier ran or rode through town       calling them out in response to a governor's or mayor's order. None of that       exists today, and no one is proposing that it be created.              scooter also lied and said,               the states have their own provisions for calling out the unorganized       militia              But naturally, scooter can't identify what those provisions are for even a       single state. Once again, scooter won't even try to support his claims. He       can't, because they are bullshit.              scooter told another comical lie. He wrote,               The militia isn't suppose [sic] to be or intended to be a "military force".              ["suppose" is another scooterism that needs to be added to the list. scooter       means *supposed*, but he's stupid. I'll bet anything scooter also ignorantly       and       illiterately says "supposably" in place of the correct *supposedly*.]              That's really funny, because scooter, being atrociously educated, relies on       dictionaries all the time, and every one of them defines the militia to be a       military force or some synonym. Here's a good one from Britannica, which       replaces the word "force" with "organization":               militia: military organization of citizens with limited military training,        which is available for emergency service, usually for local defense.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
