   About 20 years ago I was in Buckhead GA on a 2 week biz trip.   
   So for lack of anything else to do I took my Hertz Mustang convertible for   
   a ride out into the "country"..   
   TBH I wasn't prepared to see tar paper shacks, abandoned cars, tires and   
   garbage all   
   over the place but it wasn't like that in every town I drove through, just some   
   of them.   
      
   So anyway, it was summer, top down, and I came over a hill entering into a   
   town where   
   apparently there was a street fair going on. It was hot so I figured on   
   getting an ice cream   
   relaxing a bit and then heading back to Buckhead.   
      
   So I came down the hill to a traffic light where there were several people   
   with baskets   
   collecting donations. I figured it was for the volunteer police, fire   
   department or similar but   
   I quickly learned it was not.   
      
   I stumbled upon a KKK rally !!!!!!!!!!!   
   I gave them a 5 spot and made sure not to say a word as I had the feeling once   
   they heard my   
   Brooklyn accent, I would become the "star of the show", if you get my drift.   
      
   I high tailed it out of there and back to the hotel.   
   That night the local news covered the rally as if it were a Christmas pageant   
   or something.   
      
   TBH it scared the pee out of me.
