XPost: rec.autos.driving, alt.stupidity, sac.politics       XPost: alt.fan.rush-limbaugh, talk.politics.guns       From: noreply@mixmin.net              A new charge of child endangerment could be leveled against the young       woman who livestreamed the crash that killed her sister, and injured a       minor. A judge held Obdulia Sanchez to answer to vehicular manslaughter       and drunk driving charges.              Obdulia Sanchez walked into court smiling at her mom and dad. A look       that belies the seriousness of the charges she’s facing.              “She understands the magnitude, she understands her conduct and she’s       very depressed about it. She’s beat up about it,” said Sanchez’s public       defender, Ramnik Samrao. “I think there are certain times when she       smiles at her family. She doesn’t get to see them very often. That’s       perfectly fine.”              On July 21, Sanchez livestreamed a video to Instagram as she drove her       sister Jacqueline and friend. Sanchez veered off the road near Los Banos       and flipped her car. Both passengers were thrown out. Jacqueline died –       and the friend survived.              A CHP officer testified he smelled alcohol on Sanchez’s breath. On       Wednesday, a criminalist said the 18-year-old had a blood alcohol level       of .093 which is above the legal limit for an adults older than 21.              But Samrao has questioned the handling of the blood, and whether it’s       actually Sanchez’s.              “There was a lot of issues as to chain of custody with blood, whether       they got the wrong blood or not,” said Samrao. “I know the people       actually went and got a search warrant again last week to do a DNA       sample to compare my clients DNA to the DNA of the blood.”              The prosecution told the court Sanchez admitted in a 911 call she was       drunk on the day of the crash. In a phone interview last month, Sanchez       told Eyewitness News she regrets getting behind the wheel that day.              “If I would’ve known that would’ve happened that day, I would’ve never       left the house, ever,” Sanchez said.              Sanchez has been scheduled for an arraignment on the expected child       endangerment charge on October 4th at 9:30 a.m.              https://www.yourcentralvalley.com/news/livestream-crash-suspect-could-fac       e-new-child-endangerment-charge/              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
