   A former skating coach of Olympic gold medalist Amber Glenn is accused of   
   sex crimes with two of his former students, including a minor.   
      
   Benjamin Shroats, 47, was hit with one count of sexual assault and one   
   count of indecency with a child, sexual contact, on Wednesday in Collins   
   County, Texas, according to jail records viewed by The Post.   
      
   The victims, only identified as two athletes, reported Shroats’ alleged   
   actions to the Allen Police Department, which started an investigation on   
   Feb. 15, NBC News reported.   
      
   The report alleges Shroats “had engaged in inappropriate relationships   
   with two of his athletes, one of which reportedly began when the athlete   
   was a minor,” police said.   
      
   Shroats, a 30-year-old veteran in the North Texas skating community,   
   “unequivocally denies the allegations against him.   
      
   “For the past 30 years, Mr. Shroats has been a well-respected figure   
   skating coach/instructor in the local DFW community,” attorney Scott   
   Edgett told the outlet. “Out of respect for the judicial process and   
   potential future jurors, we will not be litigating this matter through   
   media commentary.”   
      
   Shroats was booked into Collins County Jail on a $200,000 bond, according   
   to records.   
      
   A condition of his bond bars Shroats from teaching and coaching, KDFW   
   reported.   
      
   Glenn had trained under Shroats’ tutelage beginning when she was 9.   
      
   She compared the skating coach to a father figure on the ice.   
      
   “I took harness lessons from him on my double axel. He became a full-time   
   part of my team when I was Novice. He’s like my rink dad or big brother,   
   making sure I stay on track. While he can be relaxed and chilled, he can   
   also turn up the heat when needed. I can completely rely on him to be   
   organized and consistent,” Glenn told FigureSkatersOnline in 2014.   
      
   Glenn is currently coached by Damon Allen and Tammy Gambill. It was not   
   known when the skater parted ways with Shroats.   
      
   The 26-year-old first-time Olympian has had a rollercoaster two weeks at   
   the 2026 Winter Games in Milan, including nabbing gold as part of the Team   
   USA winning group in the team event.   
      
   Glenn had placed third with a score of 138.62 in the women’s free skating   
   portion.   
      
   She placed 13th in the short program on Tuesday but found some redemption   
   and finished fifth in the women’s free skating Thursday.   
      
   Fellow American Alyssa Liu, 20, struck gold in the event with a dazzling   
   performance, scoring a season-best 150.20 in the competition for a total   
   score of 226.79.
