   Just thought the protocol was interesting; the idea of being able to say   
   whatever you want like it's the 90s and there's an implicit assumption of   
   no safe spaces. But it turns out that arrangement attracts Nazis, so I use   
   Usenet less now. Getting into Mastodon and finding more people I can   
   identify with, but occasionally checking back on the Usenet boards I   
   frequent out of curiosity.
