   It can get pretty depressing if you've run all the girls off by dragging   
   your tongue along the ground every time you talk to them.  Friendship is   
   a morale booster that can be comforting in times of loneliness.  As I   
   said, this can be temporary.  You will make a pass at them again in a   
   month or two after they've come to know you better.  You've got to have   
   the philosophy that you are the best suitor, except she just doesn't   
   realize it yet.
