XPost: rec.sport.archery, sac.politics, talk.politics.guns       XPost: uk.politics.misc       From: subscriber@netflix.com              Police apprehended 26-year-old Kyle Clifford in connection with the July 9       incident, according to multiple reports              The three women who were killed by a man with a crossbow in a home in       England have been identified — and a suspect was apprehended after a       manhunt.              According to BBC News and The Times, the victims of the July 9 incident       are Carol Hunt, the wife of BBC Racing radio commentator John Hunt, and       two of their daughters, Hannah and Louise.              Hertfordshire Police revealed at a July 10 press conference that the       victims were 25, 28, and 61 years old. Police launched a manhunt for 26-       year-old Kyle Clifford after the women were killed at a property in       Bushey, Hertfordshire, during the evening of July 9.              According to BBC News, The Guardian and The Telegraph, Clifford was       apprehended on July 10.              The BBC reports that in addition to the two slain daughters, the couple       shared another daughter.              Authorities said in a press release: “Officers attended alongside       colleagues from the East of England Ambulance Service and on arrival,       found three women with serious injuries. Sadly, despite their best       efforts, the women, who are believed to be related, died a short time       later at the scene.”              The boss of BBC 5 Live, where John works, described the news as "utterly       devastating" in a note to staff, per the BBC.              "Our thoughts are with John and his family at this incredibly difficult       time and we will provide him with all the support we can," said Heidi       Dawson, controller of the BBC radio station.              John's elder daughter Hannah, 28, owned a beauty business called Hannah       Grace Cosmetics, while Louise, 25, launched a dog grooming business called       Groom & Glow during the Covid-19 pandemic.              Speaking during the press conference, Chief Superintendent John Simpson       said police believe the attack was a “targeted incident” and the suspect       may have also used other weapons along with a crossbow.              “The manhunt also involves armed police officers and specialist search       teams responding at pace in the wake of what has been a horrific incident,       involving what is currently believed to be a crossbow, but other weapons       may also have been used,” Simpson said before Clifford was apprehended.              According to The Telegraph, the Ministry of Defence confirmed that       Clifford briefly served in the armed forces.              An investigation into the incident is ongoing.              One neighbor told the BBC the incident “is tragic and horrifying.”              "There was a lot of activity from the police and ambulance last night —       there were over a dozen cars,” said the 50-year-old. “There was an air       ambulance. The road was closed way past midnight. There is no access into       the road.”              "It is a decent neighborhood. It is mostly retired people and       professionals living here," he added.              https://people.com/bbc-presenter-wife-daughters-killed-crossbow-8675801              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
