   I got the impression that "Oooter" was simply replying to my post in   
   order to go on an anti-Trump rant and veer off topic.  Thank you for   
   pointing out that there was some validity to what he posted in regards   
   to forest health.   
      
   I've noticed in Colorado that the termites that used to break down   
   fallen trees into dust seem to have disappeared along with bees and   
   monarch butterflies.  The insecticides used on crops and in urban   
   gardens seem to have migrated and killed entire insect populations in   
   forests. The damaging pine beetles must have developed a resistance to   
   the insecticides and are still decimating forests.  On the rare   
   occasions that we get rain, at least mushrooms still appear.
