AC requires at least one       running jet engine to provide electrical power on some aircraft. I       would imagine passengers who just flew in from America, Hong Kong or       Cape Town (for example) would be highly stressed being forced to remain       in their seats for long hours on the ground, especially those without       window seats. According to reports, they would be without cell phone       service or internet access.
