That was a radical       change from her insistence on 4 door sedans when I was growing up. When I       asked about it she said she didn't want to be a taxi service for her       elderly friends whenever they were going someplace and the relative       inaccessibility of the rear seat would discourage them.              Prior to the purchase I had to convince her she could drive an automatic.       She had been driving since the early 1920's but had never driven an AT.              It's sort of depressing when I go to a car show and see meticulously       restored '70s rides. Some nostalgia but I owned or drove some of them when       they were new and they weren't that great. Ditto the various British       sports cars. Cute but I could blow their doors off with my Toyota       subcompact while enjoying greater creature comforts.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
