   Coyote not wolf. Another predatory canine. They mostly avoid humans   
   because we are much bigger than them. They are everywhere in California.   
   Nothing wrong with killing them as long as you do so without   
   endangerring people. Ranchers will use rifles on annoying ones.   
      
   It is a shame they were not able to kill that coyote.   
      
   They eat rodents so as long as they avoid humans, they help.   
      
   Mountain lions eat deer, and no one mourns the deer. We do not have deer   
   herd population bombs spilling onto neighbourhoods. Like coyotes,   
   mountain lions mostly avoid human. They can kill humans, so when they   
   attack hikers or come out of the hills into neighbourhoods, they are   
   killed. But meetings are rare, so we usually leave them alone up in the   
   hills.   
      
   I do not think we have any wolves here.
