   	Count me among those who never warmed up to Dawn.  Michelle   
   Trachtenberg is not a terrible actress and probably did a better job   
   than half of her peers could have, but the role was definitely a plot   
   device and even the most talented actress would have had trouble with   
   it.  It was as jarring as the introduction of the role of Seven in   
   Married with Children.   
   	I still think a stepsister could have been written into BtVS if   
   Joss had only had the sense to avoid the magical incarnation meme.   
   Sure, it might have been a cliche, but BtVS was full of cliches:  Some   
   were just more cleverly written than others.  Unfortunately, the fifth   
   season was a bad joke and Tractenberg's talent was largely wasted.
