|    JW Says Marvel Slate Is Daunting    |
|    12 Nov 14 11:24:58    |
From: madlove@arkham.dc              Joss Whedon addressed everything from Avengers: Age of Ultron leaks to a       guide to male feminism in a brief red carpet interview with Vulture at       the Equality Now event in Beverly Hills.              First, there was that quote from Idris Elba, where he revealed that he       and Tom Hiddleston are appearing in Age of Ultron. Whedon confirmed       without confirming the appearance, saying simply, "Um, should he receive       an email from me, there might be an attitude of scold" when asked about it.              He went on to say, "Yeah, when you have a cast of 19,000 people,       inevitably, once every month, you pick up [a story] and you're like,       'Awww...'"              Whedon didn't talk about his own future in the Marvel Cinematic       Universe, but he called the slate for Phase 3 "a little daunting" and       said he "really likes the slate," while noting that "the plans [are]       mutable," when it comes to just about anyone's roles in the films,       including actors and directors alike.              Interestingly, he cited the shifting rights issues, a comment that       should get speculators going crazy, as why things are always changing.              "These plans become mutable. 'These guys have these rights, oh, now we       have these rights. Oh, this guy is now not available.' Again, you're       dealing with so many moving parts and so many factors, you just can't       really predict much."              As for being a man who identifies as a feminist, he advised for men to       simply practice what they preach.              "Action is the best way to say anything. A guy who goes around saying       'I'm a feminist' usually has an agenda that is not feminist. A guy who       behaves like one, who actually becomes involved in the movement,       generally speaking, you can trust that.              And it doesn't just apply to the action that is activist. It applies to       the way they treat the women they work with and they live with and they       see on the street."              http://www.newsarama.com/22643-joss-whedon-says-marvel-studios-s       ate-is-daunting-mutable.html              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
