Brendon Publicly Asks Dr. Drew for Help with His Depression

Nicholas Brendon wants Dr. Drew of HLN's Dr. Drew On Call and former host of
Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew to help him with his depression.

The former Buffy the Vampire Slayer star sent a Tweet to Dr. Drew on Friday
night. "If anyone sees @drdrew, have him give a call. Could sure use a pep
   talk :/ #depressionisreal #helpisoutthere #keepfighting," he wrote.

Brendon, 44, checked himself into a California rehab facility on June 1 to
"to treat his depression, alcoholism and substance abuse problems,"
according to a past statement on his Facebook page.

The actor has been arrested three times this year on different charges,
including public intoxication, grand theft and criminal mischief. He says
he's tried tackling his problems with therapy and outpatient services but
realized he needed to "take an extended break and treat the underlying
issues of his illnesses," the statement read.

Brendon split from wife Moonda Tee in February after five months of
marriage. In an interview in March he said his substance abuse issues stem
from an ongoing battle with depression and difficulty dealing with memories
of being molested as a child.

On June 26 his Facebook page had an update posted by a woman named Andrea,
presumably his spokesperson Andrea Albin. She writes how Brendon's 30-day
treatment was almost up and the actor would be "accepting sobriety as one of
the most amazing gifts in his life."
