From: daviderl31@yahoo.com              http://moviepilot.com/posts/3876771              'Yeah, I'm Back': 'Avengers' Director Joss Whedon Has Had A Change Of Heart       And Would Like To Return To The MCU              Joss Whedon has a prolific and laudable CV. Amongst many other project, he's       responsible for creating TV shows Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Agents of       S.H.I.E.L.D., co-writing Toy Story and, of course, writing and directing The       Avengers (2012) and its sequel, Age of Ultron (2015).              Considering his undeniable talent, it was certainly deemed a loss to the MCU       when he announced last year that he'd be leaving the world of superheroes       behind. But, fear not, dear Marvel fans, for Whedon has announced he's had a       change of heart.              'Yeah, I'm Back'              As part of the Tribeca Film Festival, Whedon reflected on his involvement in       the realm of comic book movies, and the comments he made last year. Talking       to Deadline he said:              "It was just five years of my life. I took a two-week vacation for the first       time in 25 years, except for the four month vacation where I wrote the Buffy       musical. I set out to accomplish nothing.”              The 51-year-old director was joined on stage by the Hulk himself, Marc       Ruffalo, who was clearly enthused at the prospect of Whedon returning. He       said:              “I begged him to do Avengers 3 and 4, Hulk 3, Thor 3 and Quasimodo, and he       said, I’ll never do it again. [Turns to Whedon] I was getting worried about       you, but you’re back.”              Whedon's affirmative response of "yeah, I'm back" was enough to dissolve the       residue of his previous comments. Although he didn't expand on what       non-Marvel projects he'd be working on, he stated it was "super good" and a       departure from his previous work.              'I Think I Did A Disservice To The Movie'              It was during the publicity tour of Age of Ultron last year that Whedon       proclaimed his desire to leave the MCU, and never return. The comments came       as part of a deluge of fairly negative comments on the movie. During his       presentation, he said:              "I created the narrative — wherein I’m not quite accomplished at — and       people just ran with [about Ultron] ‘Well it’s OK, it could be better, but       it’s not Joss’ fault’ and I think that did a disservice to the movie,       and to       the studio and to myself. Ultimately, it wasn’t the right way to be because       I’m very proud about it.”              The next MCU offering, Captain America: Civil War, is released in a number       of weeks, and will be the first offering of the third phrase of movies. Of       all of the upcoming films on Marvel's slate, only Captain Marvel (2019) and       The Inhumans (2019) remain director-less.              What with his recent declaration of a his desire to return, it wouldn't be       too surprising if Marvel bosses look to Whedon to take on one of those       projects.                            http://daviderl.com/ .       http://daviderl31.blogspot.com/              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
