The starring role launched Trachtenberg into an       impressive film and television acting career, including notable roles on       Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Gossip Girl, as well as the feature 17 Again.              “I have always only ever wanted to be Harriet,” Trachtenberg shared in an       oral history of the film with Uproxx. “I had read the book. It was still, at       the time, on school curriculums. It was always a favorite of mine. It was       rare to read a book with such a strong passionate heroine who was my age.”              Check out Trachtenberg’s note below.              "Twenty years ago today, July 10th 1996, Harriet The Spy opened in theaters.       I was 10 years old, this was my first movie, and my dream come true. I will       always be honored to have been the girl who brought #harriet to life. The       time has come the walrus said…. #hts “I want to see the whole world, and I       want to write down everything!” ~ Harriet"              ////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////       ////////////////              http://www.ew.com/article/2016/11/14/michelle-trachtenberg-harri       t-the-spy-inspiration              How Harriet the Spy still inspires Michelle Trachtenberg, 20 years later.              Posted November 14 2016              It’s been 20 years since Michelle Trachtenberg made her big-screen debut       starring in Harriet the Spy, Nickelodeon’s first-ever film. Since then, the       31-year-old star has gone on to earn 55 acting credits, including roles in       Buffy the Vampire Slayer, EuroTrip, Gossip Girl, and more, but it’s her turn       as the writer and elementary school spy, Harriet M. Welsch, that’s left a       lasting impression.              “I’m fully WGA [Writers Guild of America] and a writer and have sold       several       projects. I feel like [I’m living] a Hollywood version of Harriet’s       life,”       Trachtenberg says.              Though she can’t disclose much about her upcoming projects quite yet,       Trachtenberg, who sold her first project at 23 (it was about a serial       killer — “I’m so weird,” she says), hints that she’s currently       putting       together “a period piece that spans about a 30-year decade, starting in the       ’50s. It’s a true story.”              There’s also the pilot that she wrote about an “accessories editor who       always wanted to be a writer.” The Brooklyn native is convinced that her       notebook-obsessed alter ego would approve: “Harriet would be proud.”              David              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
