David Boreanaz on the Bones Series Finale and Why He'll Never do a Buffy
   Reunion

David Boreanaz, 47, got his big break as a member of the undead on Buffy the
Vampire Slayer and its spin off Angel. For the past 12 years, he’s played
the more human FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth on Fox’s hit series Bones,
loosely based on the books by Kathy Reichs. The series airs its final
episode March 28, and Boreanaz shares his thoughts on the future.

What can you tell us about the series finale?

What is great is I was able to get my dad (retired broadcaster Dave Thomas)
and my mom in the series finale. I also got my son, my daughter and my wife
Jaime in, so the whole family is definitely going to be in it.

What’s the biggest lesson that your dad taught you?

You’ve got to remember there are no rules in this town, so when you check in
at the studio gate, the last person you’re going to see is the guard. You
don’t know if you’re going to see him after day six or day 120, so treat
   him
the same way you would on the first day.

What was your favorite Bones episode?

What was your favorite Bones episode?

I loved the 200th because it was special—I loved going back and
doing an homage to Alfred Hitchcock and classic Hollywood. But I loved the
first episode, too, because it was so raw.

Looking back, is there something you wish you had gotten the chance
   to do?

I wanted to do an old man episode really bad. I actually went and
got fitted for the prosthetic. It just didn’t work out time wise. It’s hard
to get people in and out of the makeup.

Would you ever consider a Buffy remake?

No, never; that’s done, see ya, next. I have no problem with the
cult audience, and I would totally get back into the genre, but I’m not a
big reunion guy. I tend to like to go forward. I don’t like to go
backward—except when I’ve got ice skates on my feet and I’m playing
   hockey.

           What’s next for you?

I’m in a position now where I just don’t feel like I need to chase
anything in my life, so whatever happens, happens. To me, it’s really about
finding something that would fit with what I’d like to do, whether that’s
developing something, being a part of something or directing a show or a
   pilot.
