   That gripe can be applied to just about every sci-fi/fantasy book,
   movie, or TV show I've ever read or watched. The premise behind Buffy
   makes little sense.

   Only one slayer active at a time;
   the council can easily find these girls;
   the parents don't ask about their daughter's sudden odd behavior or
   strange injuries;
   teen girls willingly forgo normal life to become slayers. etc. etc. etc.

   Suddenly they were aliens from another world who become immortal on Earth.
   They stole that idea from the Superman mythos! :-D
