Grimm was "inspired" by Buffy and now they're doing a spinoff with a
female lead who fights mythical monsters. That sounds kinda familiar... :-D

NBC to develop a Grimm spinoff series with female lead

   ------------------------------------------------------

Deadline reports that NBC is currently in the process of developing
a new spinoff based off their popular supernatural series Grimm with
a female character in the lead. The untitled Grimm spinoff is
expected to feature some of the original show's fan favorite
characters while also introducing new characters, new dangers and
   epic new mysteries.

The new series is being produced by Universal TV and Hazy Mills
Productions with Melissa Glenn (Iron Fist) set to write the script.
Hazy Mills' Sean Hayes and Todd Milliner will serve as executive
producers along with Glenn. Grimm co-creators David Greenwalt and
Jim Kouf will be the spinoff's consulting producers.

Grimm ran on air for six seasons that lasted from 2011-2017. The
original series was inspired by Grimms' Fairy Tales and centered
around the character of homicide detective Nick Burkhardt, who was
portrayed by David Giuntoli. Nick's life changes when he finds out
the he is destined to become a guardian called a Grimm, one who
keeps the balance between humanity and mythological creatures.

Grimm was created by David Greenwalt & Jim Kouf and Stephen Carpenter.
Sean Hayes and Todd Milliner (Hollywood Game Night, Hot in Cleveland)
serve as executive producers along with Greenwalt and Kouf.
