From: daviderl31@yahoo.com              https://screenrant.com/buffy-vampire-slayer-faith-times-sorry-hated/                     Buffy the Vampire Slayer's Faith Lehane walked the line between hero and       villain, and these moments show the slayer at her worst or most sympathetic.              BY CAROLYN JENKINS                     Always controversial and polarizing, Faith Lehane sprang on the scene on       Buffy the Vampire Slayer in season three. Her arrival came after the death       of Kendra, the slayer who arose after Buffy's death. Faith threw everything       Buffy believed into chaos. She was void of shame and, at times, a       conscience.              That was not the only side of Faith. As the audience came to know the rogue       slayer, it became clear that she was that way for a reason. While not an       excuse for her behavior, there were explanations for her actions. Here are       five reasons why her reputation is deserved and five reasons she is worth a       second look.                     10       Hated Her: Tried To Seduce Angel              Faith’s decision to join the Mayor was not necessarily a surprise. Though       she did kill his right-hand man, she couldn’t turn down the parental figure       that she never had.              After she was thrown aside by the Watcher’s Council, she joined the Mayor       and helped him with his evil plots. One of these was her attempt to steal       Buffy’s boyfriend. Faith used a spell thinking that it would take his soul.       It was all a ploy and ultimately revealed to Buffy that Faith's allegiance       had changed.                     9       Felt Bad For Her: Couldn't Face Kakistos              Faith answered the call of the slayer when her predecessor Kendra was       killed. She took to slaying naturally and like any slayer before her, had a       watcher to look after her.              After a time, Faith’s watcher was brutally murdered by an old vampire,       Kakistos. He took pleasure in inciting pain and Faith could not beat him.       She fled to Sunnydale, paralyzed with fear at the thought of the vampire       that killed her watcher.                     8       Hated Her: Blamed Buffy for the Death of The Deputy Mayor              Faith Lehane had been a rogue slayer long before she killed someone. She       enjoyed slaying a little bit too much and was morally gray at best. This all       came to a head when she accidentally killed Deputy Mayor Alan Finch.              Thinking he was a vampire, Faith staked him in the heart. But her real       transgression was admitting to Buffy that she had no remorse for his death.                     7       Felt Bad For Her: Buffy Put Her In A Coma              Time and time again, Faith had proven that she was not on Buffy’s side. Once       Faith shot Angel with a poison arrow, there was no return. The only cure for       that poison was the blood of a Slayer.              While Faith had not endeared herself to Buffy, Buffy’s intention to feed       Faith to Angel bordered on murderous intent. Buffy lost her moral high       ground when she stabbed Faith, putting her in a coma.                     6       Hated Her: Used Xander              Xander never had luck with the ladies, and arguably one of his most       dangerous liaisons was with Faith. In a fit of boredom, Faith took Xander to       her motel room and had her way with him. This was an event that had some       importance to Xander, though not as much with Faith.              Later Xander tried to talk to Faith and she took this to mean that he just       wanted her for physical reasons. The incident turned dark as Faith almost       strangled him in the heat of the moment.                     5       Felt Bad For Her: Woke Up In A World Without The Mayor              Faith’s connection to any sort of humanity was her relationship with Mayor       Wilkins. While generally evil and intent on destroying Sunnydale, he treated       Faith like a daughter. The Mayor was distraught when Faith fell into a coma.       He was slain while Faith was still asleep.              Faith woke up, unaware that a year had passed, and the Mayor had died during       the showdown at Sunnydale High. At that moment, Faith realized that she was       alone and there was no one out there who loved her anymore.                     4       Hated Her: Swapped Bodies With Buffy              After Faith woke up from a coma, she was understandably out of sorts. Though       The Mayor was dead at this point, he gave her a gadget for her own devices       in the event that she ever woke up.              When Faith used it, she swapped bodies with Buffy and wreaked havoc in her       life. One of the most egregious of these crimes was when Faith slept with       Buffy’s boyfriend, Riley.                     3       Felt Bad For Her: Did Not Understand Love              There are many issues concerning Faith swapping bodies with Buffy. One       issue, in particular, was Faith's decision to sleep with Riley while in       Buffy’s body. Riley did not know he was with Faith and told her that he       loved her.              Faith had never heard that before and became confused and upset. There was       no excuse for sleeping with Riley, but it added another facet to how       disturbed Faith was.                     2       Hated Her: She Poisoned Angel              Faith had always been provocative. She pushed away Buffy's attempts to       accept her. She instead opted to join The Mayor in his bid to turn into a       giant snake. Faith not only joined her newfound father figure but attempted       to hurt Buffy.              One of these attempts was killing the love of Buffy’s life, even after Buffy       and Angel had broken up. While Buffy and Angel were fighting on the street,       Faith shot him with an arrow full of poison.                     1       Felt Bad For Her: Always Compared Herself To Buffy              To Faith, Buffy always had a better life. Faith grew up in South Boston to       an alcoholic mother and no maternal affection. Even when she made it to       Sunnydale, she was always on her own. She lived in a motel and didn’t attend       school.              Many of Faith’s actions isolated her from the group. Buffy was everything       that she could have had and no matter what, Faith found that she was lacking       in some way. She pushed away Buffy’s attempts at friendship because she       didn't feel like she was good enough. Only when she arrived back in       Sunnydale after breaking out of prison did it seem like a step in the       direction of being accepted.                     David              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
