From: daviderl31@yahoo.com              https://screenrant.com/buffy-the-vampire-slayer-andrew-times-loved-hated/              Buffy the Vampire Slayer: 5 Times We Felt Bad For Andrew (& 5 Times We Hated       Him)              Andrew served as (mostly) an antagonist for Buffy the Vampire Slayer's sixth       season. Many fans hated him, but occasionally we did feel bad for him.              BY CAROLYN JENKINS              Andrew Wells appeared in the sixth season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. He       represented one-third of the main villains for the season, known as The       Trio. Members included Warren Meers and Jonathan Levinson, who both appeared       in the show previously.              Andrew followed Warren thoughtlessly and often did not think about the       repercussions of his actions. The seventh season gave way for Andrew's       redemption. His actions were divisive, despite ending up on the correct       side. Here are five ways Andrew made bad decisions and five ways that he was       redeemed.                     10       Hated Him: Conspired Against Jonathan              While not the most formidable of Buffy’s foes, the Trio in season six posed       many threats. Warren’s descent into madness brought up many questions.       Internally and externally. Towards the end of the season, Jonathan started       questioning The Trio's methods when opposing Buffy.              Desperate to be in Warren’s good graces, Andrew followed him at every turn.       Convinced that Jonathan was not to be trusted, Andrew started plotting       behind Jonathan’s back with Warren. However, these plots never came to       fruition once Warren was killed.                     9       Felt Bad: The First Manipulated Him              Andrew and Jonathan’s escape to Mexico was short-lived. They had been on the       lam since Warren’s death, but the past came back to haunt Andrew. Disguising       itself as Warren, The First started manipulating Andrew to do its bidding.              Even after Andrew had opened the seal to the Hellmouth, The First still       haunted him. It chose the guise of Jonathan, the best friend he had       sacrificed, to hurt him the most.                     8       Hated Him: Planted Cameras At Buffy’s              The Trio did some ethically questionable things to Buffy. One of the most       invasive was planting cameras around her house, as well as The Magic Box.       Andrew never questioned the plan, even when it invaded Buffy's privacy.              The Trio never seemed to think about the implications of many of their       choices. Their cameras caught Spike and Anya in an intimate moment and       caused a chain reaction of disasters.                     7       Felt Bad: Remorse For Jonathan              After Andrew’s return to Sunnydale, he began to deteriorate. The First chose       to haunt Andrew and get him to open the Hellmouth located in the basement of       the blown up high school. Andrew did this by killing his best friend, whose       blood opened the seal.              Andrew compartmentalized his crime, instead choosing to film the rest of       Buffy’s crew in a makeshift documentary. It all came to a head where Buffy       forced him to face what he did. Andrew killed his best friend and he could       never take it back. His tears closed the Hellmouth for the time being.                     6       Hated Him: Complicit In Katrina's Assault              Warren’s desire for power did not end when it came to his ex-girlfriend.       Katrina left Warren after she found out that he created a sex robot.              Warren committed many crimes after founding The Trio. Katrina was one of the       worst. Andrew was complicit in Warren’s attempt to lure Katrina back to his       side. They brainwashed her to become a mindless slave to all of their whims,       taking away her consent.                     5       Felt Bad: Disrespected As A Hostage              There were many things that Andrew had to be sorry for. He followed Warren       mindlessly and killed the only real friend he had. While he preferred to be       referred to as “guest-age,” Buffy and friends did essentially hold him       against his will for a time.              Andrew was being manipulated by The First and needed to be held under lock       and key. But even so, he did not deserve Faith's crime of eating his clearly       labeled Hot Pocket.                     4       Hated Him: Killed Jonathan              Andrew never exhibited much of a spine when he was with The Trio. Warren       made the rules and even after he died, Andrew still couldn’t help but abide       by him.              When Andrew and Jonathan returned to Sunnydale, he believed The First when       it masqueraded as Warren. It promised him that he would live as a god. All       he had to do was kill Jonathan.                     3       Felt Bad: Interrogated By Anya              While in the care of Buffy and friends, Andrew underwent an intense process       to become trusted. Buffy made him face the murder he committed in the past.       But it was Anya who also delivered punishment.              When Andrew was first taken into the Summers’ household, he spent a long       time being tied to a chair. On top of that, Anya also delivered punishing       blows for information.                     2       Hated Him: Was Always A Follower              From the moment he set foot on screen, Andrew played the role of follower.       He followed Warren even when it meant assaulting unaware women. And when he       was taken in by Buffy, he found a new leader to follow.              While there was a right side and a wrong side, Andrew seemed to have       difficulty forging his own path, even in the end when Anya died in his       place.                     1       Felt Bad: Anya Died In His Place              In the final battle, Andrew survived. Countless slayers and friends were cut       down, but Andrew suffered survivor's guilt. Throughout all his trials he was       the one to make it through.              Andrew bonded with Anya before the battle, both fighting for what they       believed in. Anya was steadfast and fought alongside Andrew. In the final       moments, she was the one to die, even though Andrew seemed like the one who       wouldn't make it.                            David              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
