   I'll admit I stopped holding my breath a long time ago. In retrospect it   
   would have been better for them to chase funding for a ninth series, at   
   least that way the ending could have been resolved. I think even if it did   
   get funding, surely the main cast would now appear too much older to pass   
   off as following on from series 8 and (as much as I lothe to say it) a cast   
   change would be in order.
