   But didn't the past Rimmer just dismiss the future Rimmer as   
   another hallucination caused by the Titan mushrooms?   
   He would have done so (and presumably thought little of it)   
   until the point in the future where Lister connects the stasis   
   leak and Rimmer's so-called mushroom experience.   
   I dunno, is that right it's a while since I've seen it and like   
   much of RD I don't really it watch it much any more and the little   
   details are going from my memory.....

   Or why didn't they simply go back and stay thee?   
   A perfect opportunity to get back to earth, as Lister always wanted   
   yet they don't even dicuss staying. OK, LIster/Rimmer would have   
   to have stayed clear of their doubles but once RD docked somewhere   
   they could have jumped ship and made new lives for themselves   
   elsewwhere.
